I built a programmer much like P16PRO40 but with some pins Vdd, Vpp40 not connected and also just connecting the PGD, PGC with the buffer 7407. But it does not work. I saw some one also built the a programmer like mine and his programmer does not support the I/P version.
So the question is does P16PRO40 supports PIC16F877A-I/P? |

| Sorry. I misunderstood Vpp for Vpp40. |

| The P16PRO40 has an extra Vpp line called Vpp40, this is simply to allow programming all devices in a single 40 pin Aries ZIF socket (without applying 13V where you shouldn't). As long as you wire the connection to the chip correctly it doesn't matter, however, you must set Vpp40 to the same pin as Vpp in the hardware settings - as the 16F877 uses the Vpp40 line, but setting them the same means they both use the same line. |
